Women who participate in the population screening for breast cancer, have a 50 percent lower risk of dying from breast cancer. This is the conclusion of researchers from Erasmus MC’s Public Health department. They publish their findings today in the online international journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. The study was commission by the RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment).
