Regional and national
As part of the RIVM, the Centre for Screening (CvB) has a coordinating role for all screening activities in The Netherlands. See the English folder on their (Dutch) publications page. Five regional organizations for screening perform the screening activities. We keep in close contact with these organizations: South, South-West, Mid-West, North en East. We cooperate most closely with the East region, also because the LRCB is located there. For the tuberculosis screening we work together with the GGD GHOR Nederland and the individual GGD’s (Community Health Services). The GGD organization aims at more regionalization and cooperation, to optimize TB screening coordination and because many regions have less and less TB patients. Therefore, for TB control GGD’s cooperate increasingly close at regional level. In each region, a regional expert centre (REC) has been set up. There are four regions in The Netherlands: North-West (Noord-Holland, Flevoland and Utrecht), West (Zuid-Holland), South (Zeeland, Brabant and Limburg) and North and east (Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel and Gelderland). The LRCB is also in close contact with the professional groups related to screening, and with the manufacturers of imaging equipment.
Scientific
There are scientific connnections with: Radboudumc in Nijmegen, Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, Leiden University Medical Center and University Medical Center in Utrecht.
International
At European level, the LRCB cooperates with the European Society of Breast Imaging and the Joint Research Centre. Contacts reach beyond Europe. Since 2009, the LRCB supports the screening programmes in Curaçao and in Barretos (Brazil).
